CALIFORNIA CUP

The California Cup Club League is an organized group of water polo clubs that will provide each other an opportunity to play in an organized league format. CA Cup was founded by Tom Curran and CHAWP Water Polo. The league is designed to increase the level of competition by competing against the best programs in California.

Player Spotlight: Alex Wolf of Huntington Beach WP

At the height of 6’4” Alex Wolf has a strong presence in the goal for the 16 & U boys Huntington Beach WP club. Coach Mark Canner said that, “Alex can be defined by his competitive drive and will to win.” Alex’s will to win led his team to wins over CHAWP Blue, Xtreme, and Kahuna in the first week of 16 & U Cal Cup play at Riverside Community College.
Alex is 14 years old and has been playing water polo since age 10. Coach Canner describes Alex as an extremely well rounded athlete. In addition to being a phenomenal goalie, Alex is also a starter on the freshmen basketball team for Huntington Beach High School. Not only is Alex a two-sport athlete, he is also an AP honors student.
The sky is the limit for this multi-talented goalie.
